Frontier Silicon number one for digital radio chips

Frontier Silicon Enabled DAB Products At Smart Show 2003

London, April 4th 2003: Frontier Silicon, the fabless semiconductor business whose core products include system-on-chip (SoC) devices for digital TV and digital radio products, has become the number one supplier of DAB digital radio processors in the world in just over a year since the company was founded. This success is reflected in the DAB products on show from its customers at The Smart Show 2003.

Frontier's Chorus DAB processor is found in all successful mainstream DAB products currently available. The company expects to ship over 500,000 DAB processor modules during the next 12 months. Frontier DAB modules account for over 80% of DAB sales worldwide and its customers include brands such as Acoustic Solutions, Bush, Cambridge Audio, Goodmans, Ministry of Sound and PURE Digital.

Frontier Silicon powered products will be on show at The Smart Show 2003, Birmingham NEC, April 6th - 8th. PURE Digital, the UK's leading digital radio brand, will be showing its new EVOKE-2 DAB/FM radio, DRX-702ES DAB/FM/AM tuner and PocketDAB™ 1000 handheld DAB radio (stand 137).
