Frontier Silicon opens Japan office to support the rapid growth of its digital radio chip business

Hong Kong – October 13th 2009: At the 2009 HKEF Autumn Edition Frontier Silicon, the leading supplier of digital radio solutions announces the opening of their Japan office.

This move comes as the market for digital radio technology is experiencing significant growth worldwide driven by adoption in 2009 in new countries such as Australia and Switzerland and the impending roll out of DMB-Radio services in France. Frontier is also a pioneer in the area of Internet connected audio products, and is able to offer the unique combination of solutions which combine broadcast digital radio with Internet connectivity.

“Frontier is already the major supplier of digital radio technology to most of the leading Japanese audio brands,” said Jun Kamata, Country Manager – Frontier Silicon Japan. “Establishing a direct presence in the Japanese market alongside the extensive operations Frontier already has in China and Hong Kong will ensure that we are ideally placed to support these important customers in their design and manufacturing operations.”

Frontier has just opened its office in Tokyo and the staff will include technical support and commercial specialists. The new office will operate alongside and in support of Sanshin Electronics Ltd. who are the distributors of Frontier products in Japan.
