Frontier Silicon reaches 10 million milestone in DAB sales worldwide
Sales to double in the next three years driven by new market growth
London – 2nd February 2010: Frontier Silicon, the leading supplier of DAB digital radio technology, announces that it has reached a record 10 million sales in DAB systems worldwide.
With over 12 million DAB units already in circulation – and with this total growing by more than two to three million per year – Frontier Silicon expects to reach 20 million sales in less than half the time it has taken to reach 10 million.

Anthony Sethill, Chief Executive of Frontier Silicon, said: “This landmark 10 million sales figure is a big step forward for DAB. Frontier Silicon DAB systems are the most widely deployed in the world and are known for their high quality, performance, low power and cost. With the migration from analogue to digital radio gathering pace worldwide, there has never been a better time for receiver manufacturers to invest in DAB.”
The 10 million milestone coincides with the launch of DAB+ trials in Hong Kong this year, with likely deployment of DAB+ across the country in 2011. Frontier Silicon continues to focus on optimising interoperability across platforms in digital radio, with its WorldDMB Profile 1 DAB, DAB+ and DMB-radio technology enabling customers to achieve interoperable standards across Europe and Asia.
Frontier employs over 50 staff at its offices in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, including over 30 product development and customer support engineers providing on-site technical support to radio manufacturers.
